These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access and use of the Car Matcher website and services. By accessing or using our website, or by purchasing any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must refrain from using our website or services.

Car Matcher is a trading name of Car Matcher Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 16949187, with its registered office at 167-169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for data protection purposes. ICO Registration Number: ZC078207.

Our Services
Car Matcher provides expert and unbiased services designed to assist users in making informed decisions when choosing a vehicle. Our services include: Car Matching, a paid digital service that grants access to a questionnaire which, once completed, delivers expert-curated vehicle recommendations based on the information provided, within 24 hours of successful submission and secondly, an expert call add on to your questionnaire which is a paid 20-minute one-to-one telephone consultation intended to provide further insight, clarification and reassurance based on your Car Match Report. Car Matcher does not sell vehicles or finance products and does not act as a broker or intermediary. We do not provide financial, legal, or tax advice of any kind.

No Financial Advice
Car Matcher does not offer financial advice. Any information or guidance provided through our website or services is for general informational purposes only and is based exclusively on the preferences, data and requirements you disclose. You should obtain independent financial advice before making decisions relating to car finance, loans, insurance, credit agreements, or any related financial products. Car Matcher accepts no liability for actions taken or decisions made on the basis of information or guidance provided through our services except to the extent required by applicable law.

Liability and Disclaimer
Car Matcher provides vehicle recommendations based on the information supplied within the Car Matching Questionnaire and the professional judgment of our human experts. We do not guarantee that any recommendation represents the only or objectively “best” option available. Car Matcher is not responsible for: (a) vehicle condition, defects, or suitability of any vehicle following purchase, (b) Representations made by dealers, sellers, or third parties or (c) Changes in market availability or pricing. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Subject to this, Car Matcher’s total liability shall not exceed the fees paid for the relevant service.

Viruses and Website Security
While Car Matcher takes reasonable steps to maintain the security and proper functioning of its website, we do not guarantee that the website will be secure or free from bugs, viruses, malware, or other harmful components. Users are responsible for implementing appropriate technical safeguards, including up-to-date antivirus software, when accessing the website. Any deliberate or unauthorised attempt to interfere with the operation, security, or integrity of the website, including the introduction of malicious code, unauthorised access, or denial-of-service attacks, may constitute a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

Car Matcher reserves the right to withdraw linking permission where a link does not comply with these Terms.

Scope of Recommendations
Car Matcher’s recommendations are based primarily on vehicles available within the United Kingdom automotive market, including UK-specification models, availability, and market conditions. In certain circumstances, and where considered appropriate based on the customer’s stated preferences and requirements, Car Matcher may include recommendations relating to imported or non-UK domestic market vehicles (such as Japanese Domestic Market vehicles). The inclusion of imported or non-UK market vehicles is considered on a case-by-case basis and forms part of Car Matcher’s professional judgement. Car Matcher makes no representation that such vehicles will be suitable, available, or compliant with regulations outside the United Kingdom.

Delivery of Services
Car Matching Questionnaire - Personalised recommendations will be delivered to the email address provided, within 24 hours of successful submission, not from the time of payment. Payment grants access to the questionnaire, which customers may complete and submit at a time of their choosing. Where an Expert Call has been purchased as an add-on, the Car Match Report will include a link to our calendar booking system. The customer can then choose an available date and time for the Expert Call after receiving their report. This ensures the Expert Call takes place after the Car Match Report has been received and remains focused on the report and surrounding topics. Once the booking is confirmed, the consultation slot is reserved exclusively for the customer on the specific date and time selected. Car Matcher may reschedule consultations where reasonably necessary (for example, due to illness or technical issues).

User Responsibilities
You agree to provide complete, accurate, and truthful information when completing our Car Matching Questionnaire or participating in our Expert Call. Car Matcher’s recommendations are based on the information you provide and the professional judgement of our human experts. Car Matcher relies on the accuracy and completeness of this information to deliver vehicle recommendations tailored to your stated requirements. To the extent permitted by law, Car Matcher shall not be liable for any limitations, inaccuracies, or outcomes arising from incomplete, misleading, or inaccurate information provided by the user. By engaging our services, you acknowledge that the reliability and suitability of recommendations depend directly on the accuracy and honesty of the information you submit.

Eligibility
Our services are available to individuals aged 18 years or over who have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract. By accessing or using our services, you confirm that you meet these eligibility requirements.

Payments, Cancellations & Refunds
All services must be paid for in advance. Pricing is displayed clearly at the point of purchase. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, customers purchasing services online ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel.

The Car Matching service is provided upon payment and constitutes a personalised digital service. At checkout, customers are required to confirm that they request the service to begin immediately after payment and acknowledge that their 14-day right to cancel will be lost once the service has started. Access to the questionnaire is provided immediately following payment. The service is deemed to have started once access has been granted. Accordingly, the Car Matching service is non-refundable once access to the questionnaire has been provided, including where the customer chooses not to complete the questionnaire, except as expressly set out hereon. The Car Matching service is complete upon delivery of the personalised car match report. If the delivered report contains a material error in reflecting the information provided within the completed questionnaire, Car Matcher will review the report and, where appropriate, issue a corrected version at no additional cost. A refund will only be issued where a material error cannot reasonably be corrected. This commitment applies to ensure that the recommendations accurately reflect the information provided in the questionnaire and does not guarantee subjective satisfaction, personal preference, or market changes. Where Car Matcher determines that suitable and realistic recommendations cannot be provided based on the information supplied, we will contact the customer within the advertised 24-hour delivery period to explain the limitations identified and discuss any changes that may be required in order to produce a realistic and achievable Car Match Report. If the customer agrees to proceed with revised parameters, a Car Match Report will be produced accordingly. In such circumstances, the 24-hour delivery timeframe will recommence from the time the customer confirms their revised parameters, as this confirmation forms the basis upon which the Car Match Report can be prepared. If the customer chooses not to proceed, a refund will be issued less a £15 Initial Review Fee. This fee reflects the work already undertaken in reviewing the customer's submission, assessing the feasibility of their requirements, identifying any limitations, and providing professional guidance prior to the preparation of a Car Match Report. If Car Matcher fails to deliver the personalised report within 24 hours of successful and complete questionnaire submission, and the delay is not caused by incomplete, inaccurate, or missing information provided by the customer, or by the need to clarify, review or revise requirements where the customer's stated budget, preferences, usage requirements or other constraints are inconsistent, conflicting, unrealistic, or otherwise prevent Car Matcher from producing realistic and achievable recommendations without further clarification or confirmation from the customer, the customer will be entitled to request a full refund of the Car Matching service fee.

Expert Call appointments are considered confirmed upon date and time confirmation. Once confirmed, the selected time slot is reserved exclusively for the customer. By completing the booking, the customer acknowledges that the Expert Call fee is non-refundable once payment has been made. Car Matcher may, at its discretion, reschedule a consultation upon reasonable notice. Any rescheduling is offered as a goodwill arrangement and does not create an entitlement to cancellation or refund. If Car Matcher fails to deliver the booked consultation, a full refund will be issued. Where a material service error occurs during the consultation, Car Matcher will first seek to correct the issue. If correction is not reasonably possible, a refund will be issued.

Affiliate & Referral Programme Terms
Car Matcher offers an affiliate programme that allows approved partners (“Affiliates”) to earn commission by referring customers to our services. Affiliate status is granted at the sole discretion of Car Matcher. Affiliates will receive a commission equal to 10% of the final price paid by the customer after any discounts have been applied. Customers using an Affiliate’s unique code will receive a 10% discount on eligible services. Commission is only payable on valid, completed transactions where full payment has been successfully received and the purchase has not been refunded, cancelled, or disputed. Affiliates may not use their own referral code for personal purchases and must promote Car Matcher honestly and accurately, without making misleading claims, engaging in spam, unsolicited messaging, unethical marketing practices or presenting themselves as part of the Car Matcher business. Affiliates must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including UK advertising standards, and clearly disclose any affiliate relationship where required.

Commission payments are made every 30 days via bank transfer, based on confirmed eligible transactions. If a payment date falls on a weekend or UK bank holiday, payment will be processed on the next working day. Car Matcher provides weekly reports to Affiliates outlining referral activity and commission earned for transparency. Affiliates are responsible for providing accurate payment details. Affiliates are also responsible for declaring and paying any applicable taxes on earnings. In the event of refunds, cancellations, or disputes, Car Matcher reserves the right to withhold or adjust commission accordingly. Car Matcher accepts no liability for the actions, representations, or conduct of Affiliates. Car Matcher reserves the right to suspend or terminate any Affiliate account and to amend or withdraw the affiliate programme at its discretion where misuse is suspected or these terms are breached.

Use of Our Website
You must not use this website for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorised purpose. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, or commercially exploit any content made available on the website without prior written consent from Car Matcher. Car Matcher reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the website or services where a user materially breaches these Terms or engages in unlawful or abusive behaviour. Where reasonably practicable, Car Matcher will provide notice of such suspension or termination.

Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. All personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), and the Data Protection Act 2018. Car Matcher Services Ltd is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for data protection purposes, ICO Registration No. ZC078207. Our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data, is available on our website.

General Terms
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. A failure or delay by Car Matcher to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. Car Matcher may transfer or assign its rights and obligations under these Terms where such transfer does not materially affect your rights under these Terms. You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent.

Changes to These Terms
Car Matcher may update or amend these Terms from time to time. Any changes will take effect once published on this page. Changes will not affect services already purchased or in progress. Where changes are material and affect ongoing use of the website or future services, Car Matcher will take reasonable steps to bring such changes to users’ attention. Continued use of the website or services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
